Verbs that carry you

Vocabulary lists stop being the bottleneck surprisingly early. You reach a point where you know the nouns for what you want and still cannot build the sentence, because the words that connect them are verbs and you only have them in the dictionary form.

This course is sixty of them in the shapes people actually say, grouped by what they do rather than by conjugation pattern. Movement first, since a walking day is mostly movement. Then the small number of verbs that hold every sentence together and that learners get wrong for longest. Then the helpers, which are the best value here: learn those and every infinitive you already know turns into a usable sentence. Then handling things, which is most of what a rucksack involves. It ends with the verbs for talking about the conversation itself, for saying you did not follow that and asking for it again, which is needed on day one and rarely taught early.

60 words across 5 topics, each with example sentences and a map showing how the words connect.
