Pricing
This site is going through the payment provider's review before any purchase can be completed. The prices on this page are final and will not change when purchasing opens; there is no way to pay yet. Nothing on this site currently asks for payment details.
Caminantes also sells a set of Spanish courses for the Camino: 689 words across 11 courses, each built around one part of a pilgrim's day. Buying a course covers everything it contains, with no extra charge for anything inside it. Prices are shown in euro and include VAT where it applies; the price shown at checkout is the price you pay.
What it costs
| Tier | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| One course | EUR 9.99, once | Any single course, yours to keep for as long as the service runs. |
| Any three courses | EUR 24.99, once | Any three courses you choose at checkout, yours to keep for as long as the service runs. |
| Monthly | EUR 12.99 a month | All 11 courses, plus the practice tools below, for as long as you subscribe. |
There is deliberately no single price to buy every course outright. Owning all 11 outright means combining packs and single courses: 3 packs of 3 plus 2 single courses covers all 11, for example, for EUR 94.95, about 7.3 months of the monthly subscription.
A subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel, at the price shown when you subscribed. You may cancel at any time, without giving a reason, and there is no cancellation fee and no minimum term.
When a subscription ends, access to the courses it was covering stops, and so does access to the three subscription tools below. Any course you bought outright stays yours regardless, and nothing is deleted: your progress and the words you added are kept, so subscribing again picks up where you left off.
Try it first, free
Anyone can read one full topic of the "Camino basics" course with no account at all. Making a free account opens a second topic of the same course, which is enough to practise with, rate words and see how the course works before paying for anything.
What a course contains
Each course is a set of topics built around one situation on the Camino: ordering food, finding a bed, asking at a pharmacy. Buying a course gives you every topic, every word and every example sentence in it, for as long as the service runs.
| Course | Topics | Words |
|---|---|---|
| Camino basics The Spanish a pilgrim actually uses, from the first albergue to the last kilometre. | 8 | 109 |
| Eating properly Beyond the pilgrim menu: the bar, tapas and raciones, and ordering what you meant to. | 7 | 97 |
| Buses, trains and taxis Getting to the start, skipping a stage when you have to, and home again from the end. | 5 | 55 |
| Numbers, prices and time Hearing a price said quickly, and understanding the answer the first time. | 4 | 60 |
| Paperwork and problems The Compostela at the end, and what to say when something is lost, stolen or refused. | 3 | 36 |
| At the pharmacy Describing what hurts to somebody who can help, and understanding the answer. | 5 | 60 |
| Camino Portugués The coastal route and Galicia: the sea, the border, and what changes when you cross it. | 3 | 36 |
| Rooms and reservations Pensiones and private rooms, for the night the albergue is full or you need to sleep properly. | 4 | 48 |
| Small talk The conversations that happen over dinner in an albergue, and how to keep them going. | 5 | 80 |
| Verbs that carry you The sixty verbs that do most of the work in spoken Spanish, in the shapes you actually say them. | 5 | 60 |
| Weather and terrain Reading a forecast and a warning sign before you set out, and naming the ground under your feet. | 4 | 48 |
The subscription tools
Beyond the 11 courses themselves, a live monthly subscription also gives you three tools that work across everything you hold: Read, which colours every word of a pasted sentence, paragraph, menu or sign by how well you know it, with a coverage percentage and a per-confidence breakdown; a visual map of how the words in a course connect to each other; and a personal word list you can add your own words to. A one-off course purchase still lets you study, practise and rate every word in the course you bought; the subscription adds these three tools on top, working across everything you hold rather than one course at a time.
How buying works
Purchases are handled by Paddle as merchant of record: the sale is a contract between you and Paddle, not with AFK Ventures. For most buyers that is Paddle.com Market Ltd; Paddle uses a different entity in some countries, such as Paddle.com Inc. for buyers in the United States and Paddle.com (Canada) Ltd for buyers in Canada. Whichever entity applies, Paddle collects payment and handles VAT, and Paddle's own terms govern the transaction itself. The courses themselves are offered at spanish.caminantes.co, where the checkout will open once the review above is complete.
As a consumer in the EU you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of digital content without giving a reason. Because a course is delivered to your account the moment payment completes, before any payment can start you are asked to agree, on a screen of its own, that delivery begins straight away and that you therefore lose that right once it has.
See the Terms of Sale for the full terms of a purchase and the Refund Policy for the withdrawal right in full and how a refund otherwise works. The general Terms of Service cover use of the Caminantes app and this website.
